to the country cottage of “Domaine de
Pomeix” in the Auvergne region in the
heart of France |
The country cottage “Domaine de
Pomeix” is a bed & breakfast
offering full gourmet breakfasts and
beautifully furnished accommodations
in the
picturesque village of Mirefleurs,
20 km south from Clermont-Ferrand, the
capital of the Auvergne
region, France.
Situated between the River Allier and
the village of Mirefleurs, the “Domaine
de Pomeix” is centennial house
farm comprising various buildings on
four beautiful hectares dotted with
mature trees of various essences, springs,
ornamental lakes, pond, orchards and
gardens. The region offers warm summers,
mild winters and clean fresh air. It
represents a serene and quiet environment.
It is operated year round as a bed &
breakfast by owners, Jean and Jeannine
Durif. The “Domaine de Pomeix”
offers four rooms and a room suite for
four persons and a lovely parlour where
stands a wood burning fireplace. They
all have feather beds (single or double
or queen; a special bed for babies is
also obtainable), a desk, a bathroom
and toilets, and Internet access via
phone line. These rooms are formally
decorated with your comfort in mind.
Each morning, Jean and Jeannine offer
gourmet breakfast served in their dining
room or outside when the weather is
fine. Breakfast consists of coffee/tea
accompanied by fresh fruits and juices,
croissants and breads, and world’s
famous Auvergne cheeses.
Fine table restaurants are nearby (15-20
min driving); sheltered picnic area,
closed to the orchards, gardens and
pond, is also available in the “Domaine
de Pomeix”.
Pets would be accepted providing prior
approval by your Hosts.

Direction
From the A75 motorway
(Clermont-Fd – Montpellier), exit
N°4 and follow Vic-Le-Comte or exit
N°6 and follow Veyre-Monton until
the village Les Martres de Veyre. At
the traffic lights at the entrance of
Les Martres de Veyre turn left, follow
Mirefleurs/Cournon, at the first roundabout,
turn right over the bridge (cross the
River Allier), follow Mirefleurs/ Pérignat
sur Allier, at the second roundabout,
turn left, follow Pérignat sur
Allier (RD N°1), after 350 meters,
turn left; the “Domaine de Pomeix”
is 100 meters in front.
